Day 6

The doctors are surprised I’m awake already. Frankly, given what happened in the wall, so am I. I swear, the next time I think going into the wall is a good idea, I need someone to slap me until I think otherwise. Amaka’s got a really hard slap, now that I think about it. She’ll do for that, that is, once I can bring her back from Berith’s brother’s.

Going back to the wall, that thing’s going to be the death of me. That damned snake found me again. This time, though, there was nowhere for me to go. I had to fight it as I made my way back outside. I managed to slice it a few times, shortened it’s tongue by a foot or so, that’s for sure. By how it kept trying to bind me, I’d have to say it was a giant python, though. It never really tried to bite me, except when I cut it’s tongue when it got extremely close once. That’s when, of all times, I noticed it didn’t have any fangs. That doesn’t mean it’s not aggressive, though.

Anyway, I managed to make it to the hole whole. When the light from outside began to illuminate the snake, it quickly shied away and fled. It must be very sensitive to light. Makes sense, since it’s lived its entire life in total darkness. But that means it can see, something which I didn’t think it could do.

But when I got out of the hole, the saying “out of the pan and into the fire” comes to mind. Just as soon as I cleared the entryway, I got pelted on the head by something, felt like a marble from a slingshot. I turned towards where it came from and immediately took a marble to the face. Right in between the eyes (thankfully, not in the eyes). I still managed to get a glimpse of who was shooting at me, and immediately recognized her as one of Jonah’s “scouts”.

The little mink turned tail and darted into an alleyway as soon as I saw her. I started to chase after her when I saw the sharks charging at me from the side. I barely evaded the first one when the second plowed slam into me, sending me sprawling against the wall. Before I could even begin to defend myself, the two sharks began pummeling me until I blacked out.

That, apparently, was two days ago. I see that Starlight is in here with me, her wounds from when I found her appear to have reopened. I assume, though, that Berith just brought her back here as a precaution and left Amaka at his brother’s, though I figure she’ll want to be close by, since she won’t want to be left alone with a guy she doesn’t know.

Gods, it hurts so badly right now. I think I’m going to try to go back to sleep. One of the nurses said she’d be back soon with some pain meds. I’ll ask who brought me here when she gets back with it.
